If a poem's been online in a writer's group situation with limited viewing, does that still count as unpublished?

Do you have an example of a poem that you think represents the Life Poetic?
Thanks.

Yes! By my rules, the poem counts as unpublished!
Posted by: Sage Cohen | April 28, 2010 at 07:18 PM
Im going to leave the interpretation of the life poetic to each poet!

Would like to know what exactly the cover letter is? Also is a URL required?
Posted by: Kittyfairy31 | April 29, 2010 at 05:53 PM
No, a URL is not required!
I think you should be able to learn about cover letters in Poets Market!

I'm happy to see there's no fee to enter and if I had an iPhone, I'd love to use this app.

Could you give an example of a URL that we should give on the cover letter?
Posted by: Karen | May 18, 2010 at 01:51 PM
If you have a blog or a website, please provide that URL. If you dont, no problem -- and no need to share a URL!
Posted by: Sage Cohen | May 18, 2010 at 01:55 PM
Does my Facebook page count as a URL?
Posted by: Jerry Rooney | May 27, 2010 at 07:51 AM
I hadnt thought of that! Sure, you can use your Facebook page URL, if you want to send folks there. A URL is not necessary to submit!

Thanks, Sage. I plan to submit three of my poems. I have a few questions. If one of our poems is accepted will we have first right to it? Is it OK to include a copyright symbol with the poetry submission?

Hi, Barry,
Technically, I would have the first rights to it if I published it, but youd be free to use it whenever you like after that. No need to include a copyright mark.
Looking forward to your submission!

A little confused about the e-mail address. Is it sage@sagesaidso.com or do I actually write in (at) and (dot)?

Driven by his passion for music and his accomplishments as a classical guitarist – accomplishments that led to a close friendship with Andres Segovia – he was never satisfied with the “hi fi” equipment of his day. So he built better; first in his basement, later in a factory. His taladsfent for industrial design and his ability to infuse talented engineers like Sidney Smith and others with his vision resulted in legendary products. The Model 7 preamplifier. The Model 8 and, soon after, the 8B power amplifier. And insured that his company would remain a premiere name in the industry he helped establish.
